British Virgin Islands

British Virgin Islands – Home – 2011

The British Virgin Islands are a small collection of islands in the Caribbean with a population of just 22,000. In 2000 they appointed a new coach, they did not realise at the time that their new coach was just 21 years of age, younger than the majority of the players that he was in charge of. During his short spell in charge they won matches against Antigua and St Martin and the BVI team began to make it’s way up the rankings. The coach, Andre Villas-Boas left after just a year in charge to take be Jose Morinhos understudy at FC porto. He is now the manager of Chelsea.

As part of my project I email every football association every couple of months. I must have e-mailed the British Virgin Islands at least 6 or 7 times before I got a tip-off from my friend Daniel that he had received a positive reply. Sure enough I got a response direct from the FA who sold me these beautiful shirts.

Ethiopia

Ethiopia – Home – 2005

At one time Ethiopia shirts were impossible to find, until their deal with Errea. This particular shirt came from a player who claims it was worn in 2002. The only photos I can find on getty images are from 2005 with a slightly different font for the printing.
